Quality Control (QC) - Executive

Job Summary
The Quality Control (QC) & R&D Executive is responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material inspection to finished goods approval. The role also supports new product development, process improvements, quality assurance, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. In-Process Quality Control
Conduct routine in-process quality inspections and testing in accordance with approved specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
Monitor critical control points during production to ensure process consistency and product conformity.
Identify quality deviations or non-conformities and promptly communicate them to the Production team.
Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to maintain product quality and minimize defects.
Verify compliance with production parameters and quality requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
2. Finished Goods Inspection & Packing Control
Inspect finished products before release to ensure they meet quality specifications.
Verify that the correct quantity of products is packed in each carton.
Ensure cartons are properly sealed, taped, and secured.
Confirm that all carton markings, labels, and identification ticks comply with approved packing standards.
Check that products are free from damage, leakage, contamination, or other defects before dispatch.
Approve or place finished goods on hold when quality or packing requirements are not met.
3. Raw Material & Packaging Material Inspection
Inspect incoming raw materials and packaging materials for quality, condition, and compliance with approved specifications.
Segregate and report non-conforming materials for further evaluation and corrective action.
Maintain inspection records for all incoming materials.
4. Hygiene, GMP & Quality Compliance
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), food safety requirements, and company quality standards.
Monitor personnel hygiene, sanitation practices, equipment cleanliness, and housekeeping within production and packing areas.
Report hygiene or quality compliance issues and support corrective actions.
5. Research & Development (R&D)
Assist in developing new products through formulation trials, process optimization, and product evaluations.
Conduct research on ingredients, formulations, quality enhancement, cost optimization, and shelf-life improvement.
Support product standardization and scale-up for commercial production.
Maintain accurate documentation of R&D trials, observations, test results, and recommendations.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain QC inspection records, in-process quality checklists, finished goods inspection reports, raw material inspection reports, and R&D documentation.
Record quality deviations, investigations, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
Prepare periodic quality reports and submit findings to management.
7. Continuous Improvement
Recommend improvements to reduce product defects, customer complaints, wastage, and production losses.
Support revisions and implementation of SOPs, quality procedures, and inspection standards.
Participate in internal quality improvement initiatives and training programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or R&D within a manufacturing environment (fresh graduates with relevant internships may also be considered).
Knowledge of GMP, GHP, HACCP, and food safety principles is preferred.
Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and laboratory testing methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and documentation practices.
